PDFCopy / Privacy

Your PDF stays on your device.

PDFCopy’s text, table, and image tools run in this browser tab. You do not need to create an account or send your document to an extraction service.

What happens when you open a file

Your browser reads the PDF you choose into the current tab. The app renders pages and extracts selected content locally. It does not send the document bytes, filename, password, selected text, table contents, or exported images to an application backend or analytics service.

What uses the network

Loading this website downloads application code and PDF resources from the site. Choosing a built-in example downloads that sample PDF. These are ordinary website requests; they are different from uploading your own PDF. The app does not use remote OCR, advertising, or a third-party extraction API. The production site uses Google Analytics as described below.

The site host can receive normal request information when serving pages and assets. Hosting configuration and log retention are separate from the browser-only document processing described here.

Website analytics

On pdfcopy.app, Google Analytics helps us understand visits, traffic sources, and how people navigate public pages. The Google tag can use cookies and collect page URLs, referrers, browser/device information, and standard engagement events according to the Google Analytics property settings. Google handles this information under its Privacy Policy.

We do not attach local PDF filenames, file bytes, selected text, cell values, clipboard contents, or exported images to analytics events. Opening a PDF, changing its page or zoom, and editing content do not add document data to page URLs or titles. We do not configure advertising personalization or Google signals. Analytics is not loaded by the app on local builds or preview domains. Blocking analytics does not prevent the PDF tools from working.

Clipboard and downloads

Copy actions place the selected or edited result on your device’s clipboard after you click a copy button. Other apps and the operating system may access clipboard content according to their own behavior. Image downloads are saved through your browser’s normal download flow.

Closing or refreshing the page

PDFCopy does not save your PDF or extracted content in its own browser storage. Closing or refreshing the page requires reopening the file. Files you download and content you copy can remain on your device after the tab closes.

Current scope

This note describes the current implementation. OCR is not available. Password entry, accounts, cloud storage, and saved document history are not supported. Any future feature that changes how document content is handled needs its own clear explanation.
